Derilene McCloud is a communications expert, seminar leader, and radio personality who always had a passion for movies and the lessons we learn from them.
Derilene doesn’t view movies as simply entertainment; she has an uncanny ability to mine films for life lessons and messages that can help inform one’s decision making or thinking about an issue. Since she was ten years old, Derilene has wowed people by unpacking messages in films that others could not readily see. She has made it her life’s mission to help people better understand human behavior by using the popular and highly accessible medium of film to illustrate, interpret and inspire.
Derilene’s acclaimed six-week workshop, “Letting Go”, which utilize movies to demonstrate how to let go of old behavior patterns and create more of what you desire in your life. This course was designed for people in transition, whether it’s a divorcee, or someone who’s just lost a loved one, or an individual starting a new chapter of life. When she used movies to illustrate practical everyday wisdom, her students were better able to retain the information and use it in their everyday life.
Derilene's workshop experiences proved that movie messages impact our lives in very meaningful and transformational ways. In February 2008, Derilene began to share her insights with larger audiences through a weekly interactive Internet radio program, “ Life Lessons from Movies.” The program offers the listening audience the opportunity to talk about selected movies with actors, writers, authors, producers, and directors. Listeners call in and share their differing perspectives, offering deeper layers of insights into their favorite movies.
